How to Stop Cancer Ebook

Antibiotics, Sex Hormones, Cancer Drugs In Tap Water

I love the internet, but sometimes I feel I should throw out my computer along with my tv and live in a cave.

When I read on the net, the various probes that found drugs in tap water, you get the feeling that you are being punished for living in a modern society.

After all, my grandparents didn't have to go through this. They could go down to the river and drink the water directly and not get sick. They were healthy as horses. Now with all our advanced technology, we are being faced with rocket fuel in or drinking water and now drugs in tap water.

Probe Finds Drugs In Drinking Water.

From time to time, there has been many studies done on this issue but the one that got the most attention was the probe by the Associated Press.

They found various medications in the water supply of 24 large metropolitan cities across America - 40 million people. Some examples of the medication found were antidepressant, antibiotics, sex hormones and cancer medication.

Many people mistakenly believe that once you take a pill it is totally absorb by the body. However, this is not the case. Pills are partially absorbed, the rest is excreted and flushed down the toilet. This waste water is treated and piped to you, but still drug particles remains.

Plus, it has been found that chlorine, a major component of water purification, makes the drugs in tap water more toxic. So chlorination is not the answer.

The EPA Will Protect You?

By their own admission, the EPA is trying to come to grips with pharmaceuticals in water supply. It is fairly new to them so they have not set a national standard for the removal of medication from drinking water.

You see, the EPA sets what is called the maximum contaminant level for contaminants, the MCL.

This tells you how much of a particular contaminant can be allowed to remain in tap water and still be considered safe for human consumption. It is both expensive and impossible to remove all contaminants from our water supply so MCLs are necessary.

But where medication in water supply is concerned, the EPA has no idea of MCL. Therefore it could be that the current amount of drugs in our tap water is way too much.

Home Water Treatment - The Solution?

Don't rely on the EPA or the water authorities to totally protect you from drugs in tap water. You need to give yourself and family and added layer of protection.

You can do this by acquiring a quality water filter. After all, we all have to drink water, so we have to ensure that it is as clean and as healthy as possible.

Now, there are several water filtration units on the market but not all are capable of removing pharmaceuticals from water and not all are quality.

Reverse osmosis water filters can remove some medications from water supply but if the drug particles are moleculalry smaller than water, it won't remove them.

Carbon filters are more capable of removing moleculalry small contaminants and even some waterborne parasites that could kill you if ingested them via a glass of water.

They key now is to find a quality water filter and a reputable supplier. You can do so online, but you need to carry out your due diligence. It well worth your time to do so because your family's long term health, may depend on it.
